Over the past twelve years, I’ve worked in accounting, close oversight, and executive reporting, both as a contractor and in full-time roles. In that time, I’ve been brought in when the numbers felt messy, the month-end process was inconsistent, or leadership needed reporting they could actually use. In one role, we took on an additional client contract, built the procedures from the ground up, and trained the team to run the foundation independently. The result was a steady close cadence and leadership-ready reporting that did not rely on one person’s memory to keep it moving.

Outside of paid work, I’ve also volunteered with an arts foundation and a co-op to help straighten out financial processes and leave behind simple, durable systems for the people who would take over after me. That work mattered for the same reason the business work matters: organizations need clarity that lasts, not heroics that burn people out.

More recently, I’ve helped two businesses get their operations fully off the ground, putting structure around their financial workflow so the owner could stop guessing and start leading.

Across these projects, I’ve learned the same pattern shows up again and again: growth outpaces systems, the close gets delayed, reporting becomes unreliable, and decision-making turns into stress. My role is to step in as fractional Director of Finance & Operations or fractional CFO, rebuild the rhythm, tighten the controls, and help you move through the growing pains with confidence.
